Laser Blanking Lines

Automatic Feed’s blanking lines are ideally suited to meet the needs of the tailored blank industry. They provide high accuracy blanks that are cut and beveled to the close tolerances required in the welding process. In some applications, re-shearing can even be eliminated.

Close Coupled Lines

Remaining competitive today demands lower work-in-process inventory. One way to achieve it? Not having to feed precut blanks into the forming operation. Automatic Feed supplies coil handling systems that allow you to directly feed tandem press and transfer press lines.

Our close-coupled press-feeding systems are designed to perform the functions of larger lines in a considerably smaller space. They can also be used to feed progressive dies, transforming your existing transfer press into a more flexible stamping system. You achieve increased press speed and far less downtime in less space.

Progressive Die Lines

Oscillating Dies & Shears

Automatic Feed’s AC servo-driven oscillating dies incorporate a range of features, giving you all the flexibility you need.

• High speed oscillating shear up to 80 spm
• Designed to provide trapezoidal, rectangular and parallelogram parts
• Interchangeable blade holders allow various chevron or radius blanks
• Oscillating capability up to ±35°, depending on material width
• Auto connect
• Specially-designed die provides 70:30 shear-to-break ratio for tailor welded blanks

Bundle Turnover

Turning over blanks to create opposite handed parts may sound easy, but with today’s coated steels and surface sensitivity, great care, strength and precision needs to be designed into the bundle turnover unit.

Cassette Leveler                     

One of the most critical operations in a blanking line is leveling. Despite improvements in the production of mill rolls, most material still needs to be leveled. New technologies in this area include cassette levelers with removable roll modules. Each cassette can handle a different roll diameter or backup arrangement, allowing increased capacity on a single machine.

Additionally, cassette levelers allow offline cleaning and maintenance. The line can continue to run while one cassette is being serviced, reducing downtime. Cassette changeovers take about two minutes and can be accomplished without tools.

Automatic Feed’s new cassette leveler can extend the minimum and maximum thickness capacity of a single roller leveler by employing multiple interchangeable work roll cassettes, each cassette offers a different roll diameter and spacing sized for a different thickness range.

Stacking systems

Automatic Feed Company is world famous in manufacturing stacking for high-speed blanking and cut-to-length lines.

We have installed over 150 systems worldwide. Using soft piling technology we are capable of matching maximum productive (up to 120 SPM) with precision and accuracy to give excellent stack quality.

In the past, quality blanks could only be obtained at the sacrifice of high production rates. With Automatic Feed Company’s “soft piling” stacking system technology high production rates and quality are synonymous.
